Garnets - Fruit

If you’re having the kind of Monday where only the aural equivalent of being wrapped in cotton wool will suffice, you could do much worse than spend some time with London-based group Garnets’ debut single Fruit. Entirely home-produced, with a vocal to match Justin Vernon for hushed effectiveness, its instrumentation nestles against a backdrop of glistening tape loops.

While it could do just as well go without its closing dainty piano sequences (less probably is more on your debut single), for the most part Fruit is understated and minimal and all the more alluring for it.
