girl_irl and Crosstalk Collab On 'buzz'
Alt-pop artist girl_irl and club producer Crosstalk have joined forces to release their club banger, 'buzz'.
Originally conceived and recorded in London last summer, 'buzz' captures the intense emotions of being hooked on someone, chronicling the journey from crush to complete obsession.
Despite the initial creative spark, the original beat didn’t fully resonate with girl_irl. Turning to long-time collaborator Luca, also known as Crosstalk, proved to be a game-changer. “When recorded, the beat itself didn’t fully sit right with me. Luca (Crosstalk) and I have co-produced songs in the past together ('float' and 'siren') and when I started to feel unsure, I knew he was the right person to help refresh the sound. Within 24 hours of me asking for his help, he sent the song back to me with a completely fresh sound. The song found an upgraded home,” girl_irl shared.
Crosstalk’s reimagining of the track infused it with a fresh, vibrant energy, perfectly aligning with girl_irl’s vision. The result is a captivating blend of industrial and pop elements set against a backdrop of pulsating beats made for the club.
