Hanggai - Flowers (Auntie Flo edit) [MP3]
As one season thaws a more vibrant sound blossoms around us, playing catch up with the skip in our step. Cue Auntie Flo. (Named after his Great Aunt FYI.) Brian D’Souza has a sound that’s difficult to pin down. It’s only fixed point is its globetrotting nature. Each side of his forthcoming release on H&P lives up to their respective names of Highlife and Goa, and this edit Flowers by Mongolian band Hanggai is no different, radiating with heat as it canters along a make-believe desert.
Last time Huntleys and Palmers took over Plastic People they had Floating Points and Caribou headlining, this time it’s a strictly family affair. Joining Auntie Flo, is the man behind his remix and our own homegrown brand of Funky, T. Williams, and disco-infused Swahalie songstress Mim Suleimim . Expect dancing of an uninhibited nature.
Huntley and Palmers label launch is at Plastic People on the 9th April.
