Ikonika - 'Lost Dubs' EP

Ikonika uploaded a selection of unreleased cuts to her Tumblr last night. There’s nothing to say how old the tracks on the collection – named ‘Lost Dubs’ – are, but as one of them claims to be the “last of the bleeps”, we can presume that at least some of them date from her bleep-heavy period around the time of debut album ‘Contact, Love, Want, Have’ in 2010. Ikonika’s last EP of original material was ‘I Make Lists’ last summer, which in itself came after a pretty long wait, but the ‘Lost Dubs’ EP serves as a great reminder that few others seem able to combine melodies with rough-and-ready club music templates like Ikonika can. Also, the track names are great – why aren’t all tracks given names like They Didn’t Bury You Deep Enough (Last Of The Bleeps) or PR812 (Tech House Is Boring Mix)?
