Kristie Killick's 'Ready' is a Confession of Love
R&B artist Kristie Killick sings softly of a love that is both tender and tumultuous on her new single 'Ready'.
Minimal production lets Killick's soulful vocals shine on the new track, which is the third release from her upcoming EP, 'Jungle'.
On 'Ready', Killick pours in the emotion and lessons learned from years of passion and heartbreak during a complicated relationship. It's a soul-baring acknowledgement that letting go, no matter how hard, is sometimes for the best, a sentiment felt through bittersweet lyrics such as “I could love you if you'd let me, but we ain’t ready”.
"We loved each other so much but never got to experience peaceful environments together. It was a lot of pain, a lot of disappointment, a lot of yearning and yet somehow, it was the only love I’ve ever found myself entirely sure of," Kristie Killick says of the track's inspiration.
A truly relatable track for anyone who has found themselves lingering in the shadows of a love that isn't quite there, and who has learnt to set themselves free.
'Ready' is out now.
