Lilah Pi and Bakar Team Up On 'Stone'
East London artist Lilah Pi returns with her first new music in three years, a collaboration with North London's Bakar.
Blending elements of pop and psych-rock production, Lilah's crystalline vocals shine on new single 'Stone.'
"I wrote 'Stone' after looking at some Greek stone statues, they were forever stuck in a moment of love and intimacy and I thought how much better life would be if you could pause your relationship in its best moment and turn it to stone, so it would last forever," Lilah explains.
Bakar's verse enters as a complete switch-up to the previous musicality of the track. Entering in the last minute of the song, Bakar puts his indie-rock stamp on 'Stone' as Lilah's vocals in the distance.
"Bakar is really one of my (and my mums lol) favourite artists, it means the world to have him on my song… thank you @bakarrrr for seeing the vision and writing the most beautiful lyrics to complete the song," Lilah wrote on Instagram.
'Stone' marks the beginning of a new chapter for Lilah Pi, who has been taking time away from music since the release of her debut EP, 'Atlantis,' in 2021.
'Stone' is out now via Wanderland Entertainment.
