Listen: WWWINGS - Ride High (Copout Remix)

At the end of this month global club music label KnightWerk will continue their attack on dancefloors around the world with the release a new single from prolific internet production trio WWWINGS. The single – which follows in quick succession from the group’s recent EP on Infinite Machine – features an industrial new production backed by a heavyweight selection of remixes that reshape and abstract the original as they deftly traverse genres as well as geography.

Ride High is a focused sonic attack that won’t disappoint fans of WWWINGS’ recent output. Pinning mutant synths to crashing drums and pummelling bass frequencies, Ride High is certainly not for the faint of heart. On the single the track is also given a vocal by Southern rapper Pradda, who adds an extra dose of drama and swagger as he lets loose over the lurching instrumental. The remix package runs deep with no less than eight versions of Ride High, featuring contributions from rising names likes Galtier, Gundam and Korma, each of whom twists the original in to new and unique shapes.

We have an exclusive first listen of Copout’s remix, which delivers one of the standout moments on the record. The Brooklyn-based producer has been busy recently, lending his deft touch to remixes, teasing new dubs and dropping a killer mix for NAAFI on NTS. Here he reimagines Ride High as the soundtrack to a twilight joyride, manipulating the synths into a tense, unfurling melody that rides a low slung wave of stripped back percussion.

WWWINGS ‘Ride High’ is out 29th April on KnightWerk Records.
