The-Drum - Sirens
Industrial fetishists The-Drum announced their first album today with Sirens, a winding charge of polyrhythms, synth swoops and strange glitches that define their equal parts hypnotic, sensuous and insidious sound. The concept of ‘Contact’, as described by the duo, sounds like the plot of a hand-wringing techno-thriller: a conglomerate, dealing in hardware and software development, pharmaceuticals and generally manipulating human brains are taking over the world – and this song is probably the part when the protagonist is sneaking into their headquarters, creeping down to the lab and glimpsing the full horror of the operation for the first time.
