YARD Ignite with Self-Titled Debut EP
After a seismic breakout year, Dublin-based electropunk trio YARD have unleashed their debut self-titled EP, a feral, four-track explosion that cements their place as one of the UK and Ireland’s most thrilling underground acts.
YARD is a scorched-earth arrival: part post-punk, part pulsing techno, all fire. From the sprawling, cinematic chaos of opener 'Trevor' to the menacing, beat-driven 'Appetite' (inspired by a chilling line from Nosferatu), the EP is as eerie as it is unrelenting. 'Slumber' builds pressure to the point of collapse, while final track 'Sunlight' - a live favourite - burns with synth-heavy intensity and anarchic emotion.
Live, YARD are a visceral force: unfiltered, unnerving, and impossible to ignore. Their masked mascot, Bucketman, adds to the unease. Sonically, they nod to Death Grips, Nine Inch Nails, and SUUNS, but they’ve carved out a sound—and a world—uniquely their own.
“These tracks are for escapists,” says YARD’s Dan Malone. “They’ve lived in our live set for a while, but now the world can hear them anywhere.”
'YARD' is out now.
