A new Sampha album is on the way
It appears Sampha will soon share details of a follow up to 2017's 'Process' album, if the short teaser he posted on social media is any indication.
On Instagram yesterday (June 5), the artist shared the video seen below captioned "Messages… Signals….," which stitches together photos and footage of himself and collaborators at work in the studio.
The latest tease follows a mention of new material back in April when he launched a limited vinyl repress of his 2013 EP 'Dual', writing: "Once again thank you for those who are still listening..New music is loading.. i appreciate the patience."
Sampha is also due to perform on This Is What We Mean day at All Points East festival, a day of music curated by Stormzy. Taking place August 27, Sampha's booking means we might already have some new music by that point.
Process earned Sampha the 2017 Mercury Prize, awarded to the UK's best album as voted by an independent panel of judges.
Earlier this year, he reunited with longtime collaborator SBTRKT on the producer's new album The Rat Road, and appeared on 'Can We Do This?'with Speakers Corner Quartet. He's also confirmed to have a guest feature on the forthcoming official soundtrack to hit British romcom Rye Lane, out in November via Warp.
