Caribou announces new album 'Our Love'
Caribou is releasing a new album, 'Our Love', in October.
Following on from 'Swim', his absolutely incredible 2010 album, and his 2011 album 'Jiaolong' under his dancefloor-oriented pseudonym Daphni, 'Our Love' arrives on familiar home City Slang and boasts collaborations with fellow Canadian musicians Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett (which might explain where those two tracks came from).
A press release for the record describes 'Our Love' as a mixture of "digital pop production, hip hop inspired beats, muted house basslines and a love of shuffling garage", but mostly lists Caribou man Dan Snaith's past achievements rather than hanging any concept or angle to it – something that suggests that this'll be a logical continuation of the electronic psychedelia that Snaith has been perfecting over the years.
A new song from the album, Can't Do Without You is streaming now. There are also a raft of tour dates, including a stopover at Koko in London, with tickets going on sale tomorrow (June 4th).
