Cristale Announces Debut Mixtape 'Clear Intentions' and Releases 'Quantum Loop'

The Brixton rapper locks in her "reason why" on a project built on ambition, honesty and self-belief, out 6th November.

Cristale has announced her debut mixtape, 'Clear Intentions', arriving 6th November via Believe Records, a project that finds the MOBO-nominated South London rapper stepping fully into her own identity. With the announcement comes the release of single, 'Quantum Loop'.

Where much of Cristale's rise has been built on sharp, lived-in storytelling, 'Clear Intentions' pushes that further into territory rooted in confidence, growth and self-discovery. The title, she explains, comes down to knowing your "reason why."

"A goal feels more like a checkpoint, something you're working towards, but an intention is something you feel," she says. "If your 'reason why' isn't clear to you, or it doesn't come from a pure place, you won't move forward, only back... sometimes we get so caught up with life that we forget to live, live intentionally."

That philosophy runs through the mixtape's exploration of ambition, relationships and resilience. On 'Quantum Loop', Cristale balances vulnerability with resilience, reflecting on personal experience while staying firmly in control of the narrative, a thread that carries through the mixtape's full tracklist, which brings the new single together with previous offerings 'No Harm' and 'Top 3'. Cristale also took a hand in production across the project, working alongside collaborators including Young Chencs, Sphero and Ferno.

It's the latest marker in a rapid ascent for the Brixton-born artist, who's picked up co-signs from Skrillex, Toddla T, Tiffany Calver and Kano, featured on Skrillex & ISOxo's 'Smoke' from the GRAMMY-winning producer's album SOMA, opened for Kojey Radical at the Royal Albert Hall, and built out an acting résumé that includes Top Boy and the TV adaptation of 'Queenie'.

'Clear Intentions' lands at a point where Cristale has little left to prove and everything still to say, which, going by the mixtape's title, seems to be exactly the point.

'Quantum Loop' is out now via Believe.
