Hear two new cuts from Laurel Halo
The Brooklyn-based artist recently uploaded new tracks to both her own Soundcloud page and that of her alias King Felix.
Clearly not one to slow things up as we near the festive season, Laurel Halo – the mind behind one of our favourite albums of 2012 – has just posted two new live jams on Soundcloud.
SOTF, which comes with the tag “micron heavy live rework”, is all hyperspeed breakbeat, served with lashings of bass. Perhaps the more interesting of the two is the King Felix demo – which seems to have been recorded during her set at Italy’s Club To Club Festival. It feeds into a similar sense of aural dissonance and interference present on her debut ‘Quarantine’, cutting across the synth backdrop with an intense, forceful wobble – like a pulsing vein throbbing right through its centre. Stream them both below.
