Jarvis Cocker to publish a collection of lyrics

Watch an interview of the Pulp frontman explaining the concept behind his first collection of selected lyrics through venerable poetry publishing house Faber & Faber.

Recently re-formed after a nine-year break, and on following their surprising appearance at last week’s Glastonbury festival, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker is set to publish his first collection of lyrics entitled Mother, Brother, Lover: Selected Lyrics on Faber & Faber this October.

On explaining that he’s an accidental lyricist, Cocker says, “it’s not like you really want to write words, but if you’re the singer you’ve got to. That’s how it happened to me.” Watch Faber publishing director Lee Brackstone’s interview with Jarvis Cocker below.
