Nite Jewel to cover Kraftwerk's Computer World album on June 1st

Dublab LA to host a night with a nod to famous electronic band.

Kraftwerk, known for creating electronic music, will have one of their most prominent albums, ‘Computer World’ (1981), showcased by singer and musician Nite Jewel in LA this month. Ramona Gonzalez, who fronts the Nite Jewel project, is a fascinating choice, and a firm reminder that Nite Jewel is a musically adventurous project, and that Kraftwerk were also an emotional and extremely funky band.

The performance, held at the Ford Amphitheatre, is hosted by Dublab and German cultural body Goethe-Insitut and holds a hefty line-up of talented performers including Ninja Tune’s Daedelus, Carlos Niño, Pharaohs, Dntel, ESP, Sun Araw and White Magic, each of whom hold links with the synth-driven sound coming from the USA’s west coast. The Dublab team have been working with the LA County Arts Commission to create this event which is a part of the Ford Amphitheatre 2012 Season. Dublab DJs Turquoise Wisdom and Michael Stock will also be playing during intermission.
