Othello Woolf - Odysseus

Sample a sunny slice of soul from literature-loving Londoner Othello Woolf.

Dummy have kept a close eye on well-read London soul man Othello Woolf ever since we interviewed him back in 2009. While 2011 had him generously releasing his debut album for free, after a somewhat quiet period a steady trickle of new songs surfaced last year, including the swoon-inducing Keep On.

Odysseus is his latest, a sonic tale that references the Greek myth about love against the odds. Built on a low-slung beat and flecked with hasty guitar licks, Odysseus is a soul-drenched, sunny slice of pop and, well, we’re confident that Shakespeare, Homer and Virginia Woolf would all approve.
