Outrage after anti-vaxxer Ian Brown booked for TRNSMT festival

The former Stone Roses frontman has continued to share conspiracy theories related to the pandemic

TRNSMT Festival is facing backlash after confirming the Scottish event’s lineup that includes notorious anti-vaxxer Ian Brown.

The former Stone Roses frontman is billed to play the Glasgow Green event on Friday September 10th, carrying over his slot from last year’s original line-up, and taking second place on the bill behind headliners Courteeners.

Other artists booked include The Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream, Little Simz, AJ Tracey, Georgia, and more.

Last year, Brown released the anti-mask and conspiracy theory-filled song ‘Little Seed Big Tree’ that included lyrics like: “Dr. Evil, and his needle … A false vaccine, like a bad dream.”

Fans have expressed their dismay at Brown being booked, with some hoping a vaccine passport would be in place for the event, meaning he wouldn’t be allowed entry.
