Pop‑Kultur 2025: Berlin Festival Expands to Six Days
Berlin’s Pop-Kultur festival is back with its most ambitious edition yet, stretching across six days and multiple venues from 25 to 30 August 2025.
Known for its bold curation of experimental music, art, and discourse, the festival has grown from its usual three-day format into a week-long cultural takeover of Berlin’s Wedding district and beyond.
This year’s expansion sees Pop-Kultur move beyond its traditional home at Kulturbrauerei to include venues such as silent green Kulturquartier, Humboldthain Club, Studio.dB, Panke Culture, Heizhaus, Richten25, SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA and migas. The organisers say this shift gives “the programme more room to breathe” and strengthens the festival’s commitment to both Berlin-based and international artists.
The first two days will focus on Pop-Kultur’s Talks programme, offering panel discussions, lectures, and workshops on topics such as Black representation in music, sustainability in the music industry, the impact of artificial intelligence, and independent club culture.
The music programme begins midweek with a series of performances across the new venues. Highlights include genre-bending duo ÄTNA with ensemble reflektor, dub-infused post-punk from Anika, and Ghanaian-American alt-pop singer Moliy, whose single “Shake it to the Max” recently went viral on TikTok.

On Friday night, Kulturbrauerei will host a packed bill featuring Berlin rapper Apsilon, Austrian pop-rap artist Eli Preiss, introspective R&B producer Boondawg, and local favourites Die Heiterkeit and Dina Summer. Saturday’s finale includes performances from post-punk trio Die Nerven, Danish experimentalists Efterklang, electro act CURSES, and the instrumental cumbia-inspired quartet Los Bitchos.
The festival also continues its commitment to supporting emerging talent through its Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs programme. Taking place on 25 and 26 August at silent green, it offers 150 young professionals—musicians, producers, and creatives - the chance to participate in workshops and mentoring sessions with established industry figures.
Pop-Kultur 2025 remains dedicated to accessibility, inclusion, and social awareness, with spaces like the Çaystube offering queer, post-migrant, and decolonial perspectives through performances and installations.
Backed by the Berlin Senate, Initiative Musik and EU funding, Pop-Kultur 2025 promises to be a landmark edition - both a showcase of adventurous sound and a space for urgent cultural conversations.
