Premiere: Mao feat. Dems - No Love

UK production duo Mao, who it seems chose their alias for its ungoogleable qualities rather than its historical implications, are rounding off a busy year with this gliding dance-pop track featuring Dems, which we're chuffed to be premiering today on Dummy. Making use of sparse percussion and some very minimalist bleeps, the track hangs on the sweetly double-edged blade of a hook "I am learning not to love, learning not to love, learning not to love again."

 

The pair also collaborated with Mumdance on grime track Truth and with South Shields singer Lulu James this year, as well as remixing Zebra Katz to dramatic effect, all without ever revealing their actual identities. They're working on an album for early 2014, so watch this space.
