Regis preps vicious rhythmic electronics compilation called 'Vicious Rhythmic Electronics'

A collection of the Sandwell District associate's early work, due out in late 2011.

Regis (an alias of Karl O’Connor) has compiled a 3-CD collection of his early material, titled ‘Vicious Rhythmic Electronics’, due out on Downwards label later this year. This expansive package traces and showcases Regis’ dark, industrial techno sound in the early 90s; it starts off with four-track demos that are recorded under the name Sandra Plays Electronics, mixed with songs that were featured on his albums ‘Gymnastics’, ‘Regis’ and ‘Penetration’. It will also include previously unreleased material.

According to Regis, this collection is not a celebration of his “glorious past, as it was anything but glorious”. He also said that ‘Vicious Rhythmic Electronics’ will be packaged by a 16th century German bookbinder that normally does work for the church.
