Alice Cohen – Cascading Keys

Olde English Spelling Bee, one of the most special labels of the last few years with brilliant releases from such forward thinking talents as Stellar-OM-Source, Autre Ne Veut, Julian Lynch and James Ferraro, have returned from something of a releases hiatus. They’re back with an album from the musician Alice Cohen, who has been releasing interesting, left-field music since the ’70s as part of a series of disco and new wave bands. In recent years she has been releasing solo music, with the forthcoming ‘Pink Keys’ for Olde English Spelling Bee her 4th album release. This song from the album, Cascading Keys is a wonderfully spidery piece of electronic pop music, synths pattering lightly under sweetly cooing vocals, and all pieced together with an engagingly off-kilter bright and harmonious feel. It’s a welcome return from one of the most important labels around.

Olde English Spelling Bee will release Alice Cohen’s ‘Pink Keys’ on 12th June 2012
