Vaghe Stelle - Hyper

Vaghe Stelle is Turin-located producer Daniele Mana, part of a small group of likeminded producers working around Italy, like XIII (a friend of Mana's and an associate of the Gang of Ducks label) and Lorenzo Senni and A:RA (who are both members of the One Circle production trio with Vaghe Stelle). While Mana's tools in the past have been old analogue synthesizers and vocal samples, his recent efforts have seen him produce abstracted takes on digital electronic music.

Mana's latest move is a release with Nicolas Jaar's Other People label. Out today, new mini-LP 'Abstract Speed + Sound' is inspired by Futurism and how digital networks "move our bodies and how our representations move through them" (to quote its press release), a concept extended into his new music video for Hyper. If this all sounds a bit too theoretical for you then the music alone does the business, with skipped rhythms, mutated basslines, and trance stabs.
