Field Day announce new stage headlined by Mahalia

With only four weeks to go, Field Day are proud to announce a new stage for 2018, the SuperdrySounds stage. Showcasing the best new talent from across the globe, the stage will host sets from Birmingham-born starlet Mahalia, Ninja Tune's Conner Youngblood, grime star Aaron Unknown, alt-pop performer Au/Ra and more. Cult viral star Jimothy Lacoste has also been added to the Crack stage. This latest announcement further showcases Field Day's reputation for championing the underground music scene. Field Day takes place over two days in Brockwell Park this June with one of the most unique line-ups of any event this summer.

Expanding to two days once again, Field Day boasts an eclectic line-up of boundary-pushing artists from around the world. Debuting in its new home of Brockwell Park, the gates open in just five weeks and promises some of the summer's best performances. In her only UK performance of 2018, Erykah Badu headlines the Friday. The Barn, a behemoth of a stage that launched at Field Day last year, will make a welcome return on the Saturday. Big enough to rival the main stage, the hanger-like construction with state of the art sound and incredible lighting will play host to performances from Four Tet (live), Nils Frahm, Floating Points and more.

Other highlights from the impressive line-up include Thundercat, Moses Sumney, the legend that is Charlotte Gainsbourg, BRIT Award nominated Loyle Carner, an incredible Tony Allen & Jeff Millscollaboration, UK festival exclusives from Cornelius and Fever Ray, plus Princess Nokia, Madlib, Mount Kimbie (live) and Oumou Sangaré.

On this year's unbeatable Friday line-up, Gilles Peterson commented: "Quite exceptional was my immediate reaction to the Friday at Field Day. Seeing Erykah is always a special thing, she’s a major icon and always delivers something extra special. Hailu Mergia is Ethiopian royalty and Tony Allen with Jeff Mills is a collaboration I don’t want to miss. All these alongside the finest of the current British beyonder groups playing on home turf! Let's hope the sun shines”.

Tickets are on sale via the Field Day website www.fielddayfestivals.com.
