Norway's Øya Festival now comes with added brunch

Norway’s Øya Festival have just added some new names to its already pretty formidable line-up. The likes of Kraftwerk, The Knife, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar and S O H N will be joined by additional acts including Grimes, Laura Mvula and former Beta Band frontman Steve Mason.

The news is also accompanied by one of the more intriguing pieces of food-meets-music news we’ve heard since Dutch Uncles designed their own burger to accompany the release of ‘Out Of Touch In The Wild’ earlier in the year. Norwegian producer Lindstrøm – who was recently covered by Unknown Mortal Orchestra – has joined forces with Norway’s Michelin-starred Maaemo restaurant to bring to life his food-inspired 2012 album ‘Smallhans’. The result will be a six-course brunch made from locally-sourced organic produce, a “carrot sorbet served with sea-buckthorn berries, cubes of caramel jelly, and sugar beet” is one example of what to expect. Certainly an alternative to a bacon sandwich at 11am. You’ll need to get in there quickly if you’re interested though, as there are only thirty places available – register here.

Øya takes place from the 6th-10th August in a medieval park in Oslo. Head to the festival site for the full line-up so far, and take a look at the new names listed below.
