Sonar announces acts and showcases for Barcelona, Tokyo and Sao Paulo
Lots of big news from key electronic music festival Sonar.
Sonar Barcelona, the original and biggest, takes place on 14,15 and 16th of June. Confirmed artists so far are The Roots, Deadmau5, Hot Chip, Modeselektor, James Blake DJ, Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin, Amon Tobin’s ISAM, Squarepusher, Nicolas Jaar, Luciano, Azari & III, Jacques Lu Cont, Friendly Fires, Metronomy, John Talabot, Mouse On Mars. Showcases will come from Hyperdub, Brainfeeder and 100% Silk and more.
Sonar Sao Paulo’s lineup has been bolstered by Mogwai, Jeff Mills, Squarepusher, Za! and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Taking place on 11 and 12 May, the new artists join Bjork, Justice, Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, James Blake, Four Tet and Modeselektor. On 21 and 22 April, SonarSound Tokyo will feature Squarepusher, The Cinematic Orchestra, Vincent Gallo, Clark, Rustie alongside more local artists.
