Unsound Festival announce first details for 'The End'-themed installment

Unsound Festival will celebrate a very strong decade with an apocalyptic 10th birthday this October. Taking the end of one thing and the start of something new as the central bind, the festival’s press release ponders:

“What does “THE END” refer to? Is it the current mixture of feelings around us – the apocalyptic atmosphere and opposing sense of potential rebirth, or does “THE END” refer to something more prosaic?”

What is sure is the quality of the early line-up, headed by a world premiere of aTelecine’s live show following five-albums’ worth of black and icy experimental rock. In addition to this there will be a first look at an upcoming collaboration between Tim Hecker and Oneotrix Point Never and a specially commissioned project entitled ‘TRINITY’ by Lustmord and Biosphere that take the first nuclear tests in New Mexico desert as its theme.

The tentative bill is rounded by the great Julia Holter, whose textured classicism will be supplemented by the Sinfonietta Cracovia, and by the violent, demented V/Vm, who haven’t been on stage since 2006 and have suggested that their performance in Krakow might be their last.

Unsound Festival runs from 14th to 21th October in Krakow and, in line with tradition, will be held at various locations around the city like Renaissance churches and synagogues and ex-Soviet halls. Get more information from the Unsound site.
