If you didn’t already know, grime music is very healthy at the moment. With a growing infrastructure of labels up for promoting events and releasing work from new producers, the fast-moving instrumental scene is showing that grime is more than hype MCs or nostalgic gems – as good as they both may be.

This mix from DJ Cable – himself the head of Triangulum Recordings – looks at the recent developments in instrumental grime, all the way from SRC’s technicolour cuts to Faze Miyake’s heavy bangers, and is the musical accompaniment to an insightful Joe Muggs feature of the same name over at Bleep.
