archie Drops Infectious and Honest New Single 'Dysfunctional'

Scottish alt-pop newcomer turns messy love into a late-night anthem of self-awareness.

Rising Scottish pop artist archie has unveiled his most personal track to date with 'Dysfunctional' - a brutally catchy, groove-laden anthem that transforms emotional chaos into a confident, cathartic release.

Layering raw late-night honesty over polished alt-pop production, the single marks a bold step forward for the 21-year-old Glaswegian.

Built around a propulsive rhythm and archie’s sharp lyrical wit, 'Dysfunctional' explores the rollercoaster of modern love with equal parts vulnerability and swagger. “I just want to make songs that feel good and stick with people,” archie says. Mission accomplished.

Raised in the small town of Lochwinnoch, archie started writing songs at 12, won a local Battle of the Bands as a teenager, and hasn’t looked back since. Skipping the traditional 9-to-5 route, he dove headfirst into music, blending slick pop hooks with scrapbook-style DIY visuals and a strong sense of self. His influences range from the groove of The Police, to the soul-baring honesty of Frank Ocean, and the bounce of Jamiroquai, all filtered through a Gen Z lens.

Now, a recent signing to award-winning producer, Jake Gosling's Hotel Records, and a growing fanbase, archie is crafting music that feels both intimate and universal: snapshots of love, youth, and growth. “If 12-year-old me could see this, he’d be buzzing,” he says. “But 25-year-old me would probably just say - keep going.”

With 'Dysfunctional,' archie not only delivers his best track yet, but also cements his place as one of the UK’s most exciting new pop voices to watch in 2025.

'Dysfunctional' is out now via Hotel Records.
