Barny Fletcher Embarks On New Era With 'Scotch of St. James'

Visuals nod to London's musical heritage

London-based up-and-comer, Barny Fletcher, has dropped a playful new tune recounting a legendary night out at one of the city's most iconic musical establishments.

“I blagged my way into The Scotch of Saint James on a Saturday night. Before long, I was two feet from Virgil Abloh DJ-ing alongside Peggy Gou. I think it must have been Fashion Week because a lot of those type of characters were floating around town. I remember seeing Hailey Bieber, Winnie Harlow and Jourdan Dunn all huddled around the decks; all these supermodels shoulder to shoulder in a tiny low-lit club. It was cool," Barny explains.

“I later discovered a young Jimi Hendrix played his first London show there. Paul McCartney met Stevie Wonder there. The Scotch is an institution with real music history.”

The track’s music video pays homage to London’s rich musical history, under the deft direction of Nick Denisov (known for his work with Stormzy and Raye). With a nostalgic flair reminiscent of The Beatles’ legendary rooftop concert, the video features Fletcher and his bandmates delivering a slick performance amidst the city's famous architecture, captivating passers-by below.

'Scotch of St. James' is out now via Guin Records.
