bazio revisits his high-school years with gritty hip hop number 'OUTCAST'
It’s clear that Melbourne-based guitar-slinger bazio didn’t come to play this year, racking up thousands of streams and growing his loyal supporter base despite releasing his debut single only a matter of months ago.
Now, following the success of his previous release ‘crazy love’, the rising Australian artist returns with another helping of magic with new single ‘OUTCAST’.
Where his prior release was a woozy declaration of love, carving out an unapologetically rough-around-the-edges brand of alt-pop, bazio’s latest offering recounts his difficult experience of getting picked on at school.
Taking the form of a gritty, synth-driven hip hop track, the artist and producer’s lyricism reveals how his dreams of becoming a musician were the only thing getting him through the bullying he faced for attempting to release music in the first place.
Despite revisiting one of the most difficult periods of his life, the up-beat, fiery nature of ‘OUTCAST’ is a reminder of artist’s determination to not give up on his goals, simultaneously toasting a sound reminiscent of early Brockhampton or JPEGmafia.
With 4 singles under his belt already this year turning the heads of music fans in Australia, the UK and further afield, the 19-year-old’s childhood dreams are becoming more and more real everyday.
