BenjiFlow marks his return with vibrant end-of-summer bop and visual 'GO'

“GO is about my fondness for a beautiful woman and wanting to take her higher than the sky, and closer to the moon!”

Following from where he left off after the success of last year’s acclaimed debut EP ‘BENERGY’, BenjiFlow is lighting the touch paper once again with his brand new single and video, ‘GO’.

Although originally aspiring to be a grime MC as a youngster, the North Londoner earned his standing mining the edges of his jazz and soul upbringing to create something else entirely. These days, Benji’s output is a unique melting pot of old and new sounds, splicing R&B, West African pop and Latin-influences with elements of UK rap and beyond.

The rising creative has been honing his craft for a minute now: growing up in a musical Caribbean family that set him down the path towards a career in music, before earning a music technology degree which gave him the tools to prosper in production. Counting the likes of Wretch 32, Avelino, Ragz Originale and Oscar #Worldpeace as people he has worked with, it wasn’t until his breakthrough 2018 single ‘Deep End’ that people really started to take notice of the talent on display.

Benji’s latest offering ‘GO’ is the first instalment from his forthcoming project, ‘The Thrill’ and is an ideal bop to see out the remainder of summer, infused with Latin vibes and demonstrating his un-wavering versatility. On the track, Benji says: “GO is about my fondness for a beautiful woman and wanting to take her higher than the sky, and closer to the moon!”

Topping off the vibrant cut with an equally addictive music video, the Charlie Di Placido-directed visual sees the artist dancing around a sun-lit bar with a female companion, incorporating the Latin influences of his sound into the moves they throw about the dance floor.

“This song is dedicated to the late Phillip Teare, a dear friend of mine who we lost recently. He was always so proud of me and played my songs to all his friends. He was like my dad’s age but we got on like brothers, ha! Rip Phillip this ones for you my g,” writes Benji in the description of the video.
