Bjørn Torske – Nitten Nitti (DJ Harvey's Not Normal Mix)

Norwegian house producer Bjørn Torske, responsible for 2010’s colourful ‘Kokning’ and 2008’s ‘Feil Knapp’ albums on Smalltown Supersound, returns to that label to deliver his next 12” ‘Oppkok’. The record comes with remixes from Todd Terje (who’s Smalltown Supersound release we told you about yesterday), Crimea X and the renowned DJ Harvey (largely releasing these days under Locussolus), who’s re-imagining you can hear below. It’s a sprightly slice of slightly daft disco, with a louche swing and vocals that just about manage to stay the right side of ridiculous. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel or anything, but a little bit of perky, catchy disco will always be nice to have around.
