D/R/U/G/S - Pale Swan & Mila
D/R/U/G/S is the recording name of Mancunian-now-Londoner Callum Wright. He has pressed two smashing EPs for Moshi Moshi imprint Tender Age. Both of which were absolutely fascinating pieces that worked by taking the elements of looped club music and making them from scratch, resulting in some of the biographic, raw dance music of last year, itching with hustler’s ambition and restless intent.
Now, the guy has just stuck up two tracks on Soundcloud, neither of which a release is planned for. Sweetly, Mila is dedicated to a friend of Cal’s, who also happens to be one of the nicest people in the music game. More than anything else, it makes me want to call an old mate and be a better, more focussed human being that does such decent things for others. Cheers Cal!
