Kailaya Drops Sun-Kissed Single 'Montenegro for the Summer'
American-Ukrainian artist Kailaya's latest single, 'Montenegro For The Summer,' sees the singer-songwriter blending jazz-afrobeat guitar rhythms, powerful vocals, and a touch of R&B, all coming together in a vibrant alt-pop tune that captures the spirit of summer.
Bottling the carefree and joyful essence of a summer escape, the track was inspired by Kailaya's recent trip to visit her family in Montenegro, who relocated due to the conflict in Ukraine.
The single's musical inspiration came from a spontaneous guitar groove, but the deeply personal connection to the song contrasts with its lighthearted, escapist theme, reminding listeners to appreciate life's joyful moments despite its challenges.
To celebrate the release, Kailaya performed at the iconic Troubadour on 22nd July, marking her biggest show to date and serving as a release party for the new single. She also expressed her hopes to return to Montenegro to shoot a music video for the song and reconnect with her family.
'Montenegro for the Summer' is out now.
