Stormzy shows his sensitive side on You're Like

MOBO winning MC Stormzy turned our heads earlier this week with his new soothing 'n' sensual joint, You're Like which is a rework of LA-based singer Alex Isley's About Him. And yes, she is related to an Isley Brother.

'From Stormzy with love,' the track opens with a half sung, half spoken acapella to his sweetheart, progressing to drop into a beat that's reminiscent of UK hip hop's glory days. It's the sort of track you'd hear led by Lowkey on a DJ MK (n.b. not Marc Kinchen) compilation with Sorry on 'Above Board' springing to mind.

Every time a grime MC shows their sensitive side we all ready ourselves for the rebirth of rhythm and grime, akin to Wifey Riddim voiced by Tine Tempah. We're not going to get our hopes up, but tracks like You're Like are love songs for the real world. They also make good listening when you're not in the mood for brawling bars about football or which postcode has more trees
