Addison Groove debut album announced

London's foremost proponent of the footwork sound finally release debut album.

It’s official – Addison Groove’s debut album is due for an April 3rd release on Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons label. The album was first promised on last year’s one-sided “Addison Locked Groove” release, which had “Addison Groove album out on 50weapons in 2012” scored into the blank side, and preceded by the cryptic: “sometimes the less you know, the better. curiosity has killed many cats and when you push yourself too far, crack will be the one that keeps your sanity” [sic]. Right then.

Addison Groove will be streaming a snippet from the album every week between now and its release. Sooperlooper and Savage Henry, which you can hear below, are up at Modeselektor’s Soundcloud page.

Bristolian Antony Williams came to prominence producing dubstep as Headhunter, but his massive 2010 ‘Footcrab’ release as Addison Groove drew far more heavily on juke and footwork and pretty much set the stage for UK bass music’s growing interest in the Chicago sound.
