Channel U is returning to TV

Iconic grime channel Channel U is set to return to TV programming, BBC News reports.

The much-loved music service is set to return in November and will play a “selection of old school grime videos and classic shows”, as well as what is billed as the first-ever grime movie, Against All Odds, exploring grime’s rise in the UK.

Directed by Femi Oyeniran (Kidulthood) and Nicky “Slimting” Walker (The Intent), the film is set to feature some of the biggest names in grime including D Double E, Jammer and Ghetts, who will play themselves in the movie.

Channel U began in 2003, founded by Darren Platt, and after 15 years on air it ceased broadcasting, in 2018.
