Florentino’s ‘Colombian Flute’ packs some serious dancefloor heat
Manchester-based, Bogota-bred producer Florentino has become a looked-to DJ for all things reggaeton, regularly tearing up club sets with his on-point selections.
New Mixpak release ‘Contrabando’ EP is a reggaeton bootleg four-tracker, repurposing modern dancefloor classics that are “optimized to do maximum damage,” according to the producer.
‘Colombian Flute’ has been floating around sets for some time thanks to its serious heat – so if you’re a previous fan of his, you’ll likely have tapped your toes to it.
The DJ/producer wrote on Twitter: “the flute sound you hear sampled in indian flute by timbaland is actually a gaita flute from colombia, hence why I gave my version the name "colombian flute"
re-appropriating the appropriated”
