Holly Herndon and Caterina Barbieri play ACCA Digital 2019

Plus Planningtorock, Tim Hecker, Myriam Bleau and more...

Brighton’s Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts has announced a forward-thinking array of events for this year’s ACCA Digital in partnership with Brighton Digital Festival.

Between 30th September and the 17th of October, ACCA will host electronic music, audiovisual installations plus a conference of critical debate, titled ‘The Messy Edge’.

Holly Herndon makes her return to ACCA Digital in partnership with Brighton Digital Festival with new material from recent album ‘PROTO‘, developed alongside long-time collaborator Mathew Dryhurst.

Other highlights include Caterina Barbieri (whose ‘Virgo Rebellion’ we named as one of the best tracks of 2018 and who recently opened for Aphex Twin at Printworks), who’ll be performing a live A/V set with multimedia artist Ruben Spini.

Also billed is Planningtorock, who’ll present a reworked set with material drawn from the acclaimed new album ‘Powerhouse’ on October 11th, which will be followed up by an afterparty boasting exclusively genderqueer and nonbinary artists.

In addition, there’ll be Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang’s VR project To The Moon, created for the 50th anniversary of the moon landings, plus performances by Myriam Bleau, Tim Hecker and RVNG Intl. artist Sugai Ken.
