Ikonika, Girl Unit and more play intense R&B night, So Bones

The avant garde underbelly of commercial R&B has played a part in some of modern music’s most interesting excursions, and So Bones, a night/blog from Robin Carolan of XXjfg and Tri Angle Records has done more to cover strange Rap and R&B records than many others.

The night returning to Catch next Wednesday, and Ikonika and Girl Unit, whose excellent work for Hyperdub and Night Slugs have both borrowed the sheen-y, machine-y textures of R&B liberally, alongside Alex Macphearson and Robin himself, will be playing records.
