PRS's anti-racism 'Power Up' programme appoints Kano and Ray BLK as ambassadors

Applications are open until March 10th

Last month, PRS Foundation announced the launch of Power Up, a new initiative that supports Black music creators and industry professionals, as well addressing anti-Black racism and racial disparities in the music sector.

Ambassadors for Power Up include Kano, Ray BLK, DJ Target, former Mis-Teeq member Sabrina Washington, Disturbing London founder Dumi Oburota, and LinkUp TV founder Rashid Kasiyre.

The programme has been shaped by over 80 Black music professionals and aims to support 40 Black music creators and industry figures a year through grants and industry-wide support.

Those taking part in the programme will be awarded grants of up to £15,000, marketing support, as well as support from partners and mentoring.

Recently, pioneering hip-hop label Big Dada announced it would relaunch as a label for “Black, POC & Minority Ethnic” artists.
