A new Kanye West album, 'Donda', is dropping this Friday

The 12-track project is releasing on Friday July 24

Kanye West has announced that a forthcoming record is set to drop this Friday, July 24.

The rapper’s tenth studio album will include 12 tracks and is called ‘Donda’, the name of Kanye’s deceased mother.

Fans were alerted about the new record over the weekend when a tracklist emerged including West’s recent collaboration with Travis Scott on ‘Wash Us In The Blood’, however, the updated version now includes different songs.

Some of the tracks set to feature on the new album are titled ‘In God’s Country’, ‘Keep My Spirit Alive’, ‘Off The Grid’ and ‘Lord I Need You’.

Previously speaking to GQ about the upcoming project, Kanye said: “I was thinking of not rapping again because I rapped for the devil so long that I didn’t even know how to rap for God. Then one of my pastors told me, ‘My son just said that he would want a rap album about Jesus from Kanye West.’ He didn’t say, ‘Kanye West, you should do this,’ or ‘you need to do this.’ He just told me something that a child said. And that one thing made the difference.”

The news follows a tearful appearance by Kanye at a campaign rally and string of confusing tweets, which have nearly all been deleted now, causing fans to worry about his mental health. After deleting the tweets, Kanye posted: “Ima focus on the music now.”
