Playlist: New Music Is Life

It's a new year and with it, new music is flooding in at a rapid rate. You could probably forgive artists for wanting to have a slow start to 2018 – especially after the mammoth 365 days that made up 2017 – but, just five days in, many are beginning as they mean to go on, and that is to the benefit of our premier playlist, New Music Is Life; we were really spoilt for choice this week.

After being announced as the curator of music for Marvel's upcoming Black Panther movie, Kendrick Lamar teams up with one of Dummy's artists of last year, TDE teammate SZA, for the soundtrack's lead single, while rising rapper Lil Pump flexes in 'Designer', and London rapper Ramz has an acquaintance belling at 7AM in 'Barking'.

Elsewhere, we revisit stellar numbers from Australian singer Jordan Rakei and British jazz maestro Nubya Garcia, Kann Records' own Polo produces a mammoth techno vibe, and Toronto/Paris artist Stwo makes a statement in his new single.
