Premiere: Get People - Back to Dust

Apparently inspired by a 24-hour trek through California’s Death Valley, Get People’s new single Back to Dust certainly would suit the soundtrack to some sort of heat-induced mirage: introducing itself with an instantly discernible sense of atmosphere that’s punctuated by daunting, metallic booms, their latest venture sees them exploding into a spectral flurry of pure pop brilliance.

Not only does Back to Dust establish Get People’s distinct proficiency at crafting an intelligent, and entirely excellent indie pop record (the muted guitar which they employ before the song’s final stretch of beauty most definitely warrants comparison to The XX’s approach), but it has also made anticipation for their debut album sky high. Currently applying the finishing touches to their first LP, Get People’s preliminary unveiling of their latest single has indeed made the prospect of an entire record branded with their name just a little more than promising.
