With Matrixxman and Mykki Blanco’s retelling of the Biblical creation story to incorporate God’s all-important creation of rhythm, JD Twitch has fast-forwarded right to the end-times for his ‘Apocalyptic Mix’ of God Created The Beat. Sticking with the template but beefing things up in all the right places, the rework ignites under clanging, industrial percussion and pounding piano stabs. While its playfully demonic vibe comes through on headphones, it’s clearly one that needs to be cast out over a sweaty, smokey dancefloor to really be in its element.
