Premiere: UMA - Vanity (Claude Speeed remix)

LuckyMe's ambient ace does a dark remix of fellow RBMA graduates.

UMA are formed of two people, Ella and Florian, a married couple living in Berlin who originally formed the band in order to support electronic psych heroes Silver Apples, a "one-off" show that evidently spawned something more fruitful.

Said Silver Apples gig took place in Madrid in 2011, and was promoted by Red Bull Music Academy, which Ella was taking part in at the time. Another character who was taking part at RBMA that year was a Scotsman named Claude Speeed, the LuckyMe ambient musician who was recently profiled as part of our Next series on exciting new artists, and who is happily enough behind this remix of UMA's Vanity. Speeed's take is dark, with bass synths that feel like they can cut your skin, but in some ways it actually feels a little brighter than the original song.

Seayou Records will release Vanity on November 25th 2013. Buy it on their Bandcamp.
