Rejjie Snow - Loveleen

Following the teasingly brief electro rock of 294, here’s the lead off to Rejjie Snow’s forthcoming debut ‘Rejovich’ EP (that’s its intriguing hand-drawn artwork pictured). The breezy beat has an old school warmth to it, with Rejjie shifting between eased posturing and darker undertones fluidly: “another young boy in the grave with his picture on my shirt/ rest in peace and may you lay”. If you haven’t already, Rejjie’s Lost In Empathy – which displays his lyrical complexity by touching on issues like the plight of East African albinos – is well worth a watch/listen.
