Drive-in gigs from Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and The Streets cancelled due to local lockdown fears
A statement from Live Nation says that the Utilita Live From The Drive-In concert series will no longer be going ahead due to concerns around local coronavirus lockdowns.
Following the recent addition of Wiley to the line-up, the drive-in gigs were set to provide a summer-long offering of shows from the likes of M Huncho, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, and more – allowing fans private viewing zones next to their cars so they could enjoy the music while remaining socially distanced.
Following the re-lockdown of Leicester after a local concentration of coronavirus cases, the prospect of similar lockdowns happening elsewhere has caused for the upcoming shows to be axed.
The concert organisers stated: “The latest developments regarding localised lockdowns mean it has become impossible for us to continue with the series with any confidence.”
“We thank everyone for their support and eagerly await a time when we can watch live music together again.”
Refunds will be issued directly to ticket holders within seven days.
