Simon Cowell and Jada Pinkett-Smith announce new ‘X-Factor for DJs’ show

As the X-Factor boss declares that “DJ’s are the new rock stars”, he begins a search for the world's best players of other people's music.

Simon Cowell has announced plans to launch a live, international contest to find “the world’s greatest DJs”. Cowell’s Syco Productions will work together with Jada Pinkett Smith’s company Overbrook to co-produce the X-Factor style show. They claim the show will “comb the world to find a new breed of talent“ and will “capture the incredible rise of the DJ phenomena.” Cowell adds: “DJ’s are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”
