Spice Girls reportedly set to film sequel to Spice World

A film industry source said that four members of the band were planning to reunite for the follow-up

The Spice Girls will reunite for a film sequel to 1997 film Spice World to mark its 25th anniversary next year, according to reports.

A film industry source speaking to The Sun said that four members of the band (Geri Horner, Melanie C, Mel B and Emma Bunton) had approached a screenwriter about devising the movie’s follow-up.

The source stated that the project is in the very early stages, with key roles on the film yet to be made: “The girls have been talking about how to mark the film’s anniversary and are actively considering making a tongue-in-cheek sequel.”

The original film was directed by Bob Spiers and written by Kim Fuller, and starred Richard E. Grant, Meat Loaf and Sir Elton John as well as the band.
